Wait, don’t drink that water! Everyday millions of people around the world consume water filled with dangerous levels of toxins and cancer causing agents. In fact, in todays post-industrial world it is safe to assume that ALL water contains some sort of trace elements that have no place being consumed by the human body. This includes bottles of water consumed by the majority of the western populations. Also, the water piped in to every man made structure connected to a local water supply. This even includes the water used to cook your food in every restaurant located within city limits.
One may think water contaminants are not a concern because our government regulatory agencies makes sure all water is safe. After all, it is their job. However, it is astonishing to know that most of our regulatory agencies turn a blind eye to this problem. It has been discovered that these regulatory agencies just increase dangerous levels, when the levels of toxicity are reached. Are these people crazy? Or are they just greedy, lazy, degenerate public servants who care less about public safety and more about their own paychecks? You decide. Whatever the case, we have to be more aware of what the heck we are putting into our mouths.
The good news is we have the ability to choose clean water. This, however comes at the cost of eternal vigilance in dedication to the consumption of clean water.
Here are 5 ways to filter your water:
- Distill your own water: Notice I said distill your own water. I say this because most, if not all, distilled water sold on the shelves is in plastic. These plastic jugs contain toxic compounds such as estrogen mimickers. So unless you are lucky enough to find distilled water sold in glass, do yourself a favor and stay away from buying it and just make it yourself. I can recommend two ways you can do it. First, if you want an economic way, there are numerous videos on line about how to make your own distiller. Second, you can buy your own distilling machine. This provides the convenience of just plugging in to your electrical outlet and getting clean water in return. The upside is you have pure drinking water that is without a doubt void of any and all contaminates. The downside is the the water is so clean it is void of everything. Some say it is so void of all substance that when it goes into your body it will actually pull good minerals from your body. If you choose to go with this option you may want to consider a daily mineral supplement or a mineral replacement product to put into the distilled water you made.
- Atmospheric water generator: Yes, in the very air we breath there is A LOT of water. An average machine like this will produce between 1-8 gallons a day of pure clean water. The amount of water generated depends on the type of machine you have and the region in which you live. For example, if you live in a humid place like Florida or Louisiana you will have no problem getting a good amount of water out of your machine. However, in an arid region like Arizona you should expect your daily water generation to be much less. The upside to these machines is that they make water with just a good supply of electricity. The downside to these machines is they can vary in water output depending on where you live.
- Filter your water through cartridges: There are many different types of filters out there to choose from. There are ones that connect to your whole house, to your sink, and are even gravity fed. There is a lot out there to choose from. To get started there are some basic things you should know so you are better equipped to narrow your search. Often, manufactures will sell their filters in stages. For example, you may have a 3 stage filter for sale that filters the water in 3 stages, sediment, chlorine, and carbon. Each one of these filters does something different. It is wise to research the differences and choose the best filters for your specific incoming water supply. The upside to these types of filters is that you do not lose all the beneficial minerals during filtration. The downside is that sometimes the very things you are trying to eliminate will get through. Because of this it is a good idea to keep replacing your filter cartridges so they do their job. This means you will have to keep purchasing new filter cartridges. In my experience, it is a good idea to change your cartridges at least every year, but every 6 months would be better. Also, it is worth noting that if you want to run your water through a machine that alters the pH of your water (to make your water more alkaline), then this is the option to choose. These machines need minerals in the water to effectively alter the pH. However, if you are ambitious, you could use any of the other types of water filtration methods for a pH altering machine if you run the water through a re-mineralizer before it goes through the machine.
- A water store: If you live in an area that has a water store then this might be a good option for you. You will have to inquire with the store as to how they filter their water. Then decide if that meets your requirements. Chances are if someone decided to invest themselves in opening a business providing clean water to the public, then it is most likely very clean water. The upside to this option is you do not have to invest in any filtering devices or machines. The downside to this is you will most likely have to bring your own container (glass recommended), and you will have to travel to the store when you need to refill.
- A well: Obviously, this option is available only to those who have access to a well. If you are fortunate enough to have a well you should first test the water and see what contaminants are present. In some areas the groundwater can be contaminated due to many things, such as agricultural fertilizers that leach into the groundwater. The upside to this is an unlimited source of clean water (if tested and found to be good water). The downside to this is not everyone has a well and it is very costly to drill one.
- There are many choices in the pursuit of clean water and it is essential that we start making a change. When you go out to a restaurant ask if their water is filtered. When you order a drink make sure it is made with filtered water because your health depends on it. When you cook at home use filtered water to wash and prepare wonderful nutritious foods. To take it a step further, this is not just your our own well being that depends on it but the well being of our children, who are our future.
