Everybody loves brownies! I mean, if you don’t like brownies I don’t know what to tell you. Halloween is the perfect excuse to pull out this Organic Spider Web Brownie recipe. It’s black, it’s spooky, and it is a big fat spider web. How much more festive can you get?! Plus it uses organic whole real foods, so you don’t have to poison yourself or anyone else. Pretty awesome!
Candies and treats are traditional on Halloween but you don’t have to go the traditional route. I REALLY encourage you to make your own candies and treats from scratch as you can make them ahead of time, they keep well, and then you don’t have to spend your hard earned money on toxic treats and wrappers that are going to cost you more in healthcare anyway!
This Organic Halloween Spider Web Brownie is another opportunity to use your left over almond pulp so you create zero food waste, and enjoy all the nutritional benefits of your soaked almonds. In addition, this brownie is very easy to whip to together because the ingredients are so simple. It’s a mix, pour, and bake kind of recipe.
Quality cacao powder and nibs are essential. Unfortunately most cacao powder on the market these days is riddled with heavy metals, even popular organic brands out of Latin and South America. To prevent consumption of so much heavy metals your best bet is to purchase high quality cacao nibs and then grind the nibs to create your own cacao powder. Or you can purchase some at Natural News where their cacao powder is tested for purity levels including heavy metals.
I know the spider web looks really fancy and maybe difficult but it is extremely simple. Fill a corner of a zip lock baggie with about a cup of nut butter and cut a small tip in the corner. From the center of the brownie make a spiral all the way out to the edge of the brownie, leaving about 1/2 inch of the edge without the nut butter. Take a skinny knife and in one long movement drag the nut butter from the center out to the edges. This will create the spider web effect. For greater effects place fake spiders on the web anywhere you like. Walah!
Have a blast eating spider web brownies with friends and family this Halloween. Adults and kids alike will love this!
